UPDATE: Power back on for 3,000 Lake Country, Westside Road residents

A power outage on Saturday, Jan. 13 has left more than 3,000 BC Hydro customers without power in Lake Country and along Westside Road. (BC Hydro maps)

UPDATE: 2:15 p.m.

Power has been restored to residents in Lake Country and along Westside Road as of approximately 2 p.m. Saturday. The cause of the outage is still under investigation, according to BC Hydro.

UPDATE 1:10 p.m.

BC Hydro has assigned a crew to the scene. They are expected to arrive around 1:50 p.m. to continue to investigate the outage.

A power outage is affecting 3,133 BC Hydro customers on Saturday, Jan. 13.

The outage is affecting The Lakes neighbourhood, Carr’s Landing, Pixie Beach, and Cedar Grove in Lake Country and stretches from Wilson Landing to Killiney Beach along Westside Road.

A BC Hydro crew is being assigned to the outage, which is under investigation. It is believed the outage took place at Broadwater Road in Lake Country.

An outage in the same area also occurred on Wednesday, Jan. 10.
