Lake Country residents are being asked for their feedback on the district’s Official Community Plan (OCP).

It will guide growth, development, and community priorities over a 20-year time frame.

“As our community evolves so must our vision and we want your voice to be part of it,” a district media release says.

The current OCP (2018–2038) outlines strategic goals, objectives, and policies that shape decisions made by council, staff, and the public.

The district has initiated a general review and update of the OCP to reflect the significant changes our community has experienced since 2018, including:

  • Population growth and increased development;
  • Housing affordability challenges;
  • Environmental hazards and climate resilience;
  • Evolving municipal service needs;
  • Economic diversification and community safety;
  • Have Your Say: Community Visioning Survey.

The and will remain open until Sept. 30. Participants will be entered into weekly draws for $50 gift cards to local businesses, plus a grand prize $100 gift card at the end of the survey period.

There are also two open houses to give residents a chance to learn more, ask questions, and share ideas in person:

  • Wednesday, Sept. 10, 3 to 7 p.m.
  • Thursday, Sept. 11t, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Both events will be held at the municipal hall at 10150 Bottom Wood Lake Road.
