UPDATE 12:45 p.m.

All freezing rain warnings have been lifted, according to Environment Canada.

A special weather statement is still in place for the Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass as 5-10 centimetres of snow is expected throughout the day.

Original

Freezing rain warnings issued by Environment Canada for Thursday (Nov. 2) continue with alerts about slippery surfaces on several Interior highways, particularly at higher elevations and mountain passes.

A warm front from a low pressure system moving into the B.C. interior, means freezing rain could develop, according to the alert for Highways 3, 5, 97, and 97C.

鈥淔reezing rain will end or change to rain this morning as the cold air erodes,鈥 the alert said.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots could be icy, slippery and hazardous. Poor weather conditions may contribute to transportation delays. Utility outages may occur.

Locations where there could be slippery conditions, or power outages due to ice buildup include:

Coquihalla Highway (Highway 5) north of Coquihalla summit to Kamloops, as well as Hope to Merritt.

- Okanagan Connector (Highway 97C)

- Highway 3 from Allison Pass to Princeton, Hope

- Highway 97 from Clinton to 100 Mile House via Begbie Summit

- South Thompson

- 100 Mile

- Similkameen

- Nicola

- Boundary
