Tiny homes meant for people experiencing homelessness will begin arriving at a site in 麻豆精选鈥檚 North End next week.
The city-owned property at 759 Crowley Avenue will see 60 units installed.
The pre-assembled units will be moved in place and connected to the electrical utility, which will cause some minor traffic disruptions along Crowley Ave. Monday, Jan. 22.
Washrooms, staff facilities, and a community dining area are also being built.
The transitional housing project is known as STEP Place an acronym for Supported Transitional Housing with Embedded Programming.
Stays at STEP Place are intended to be brief and focused on helping individuals prepare for a permanent housing solution.
STEP Place will be operated by the John Howard Society.
Due to significant snowfall, the Crowley Community Conversation planned for Wednesday, Jan. 17 was postponed.
A rescheduled event is being planned in the coming weeks along with a Community Conversation event for the Trailside transitional housing project at 2740 Hwy 97.
Anyone interested in attending a session can email communityrelations@bchousing.org.
