A 麻豆精选 man remains in custody following a standoff with Okanagan RCMP in Enderby.
Vernon North Okanagan officers received a request to assist 麻豆精选 RCMP with arresting a wanted person believed to be in Enderby. The request came at around 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 28.
Officers from both detachments located the suspect inside a building in the 1800 block of George Street.
"When police attempted to arrest the man, he refused to cooperate and would not exit the building," said RCMP media relations officer Const. Chris Terleski.
Ongoing efforts to have the man surrender continued for nearly five hours. The 40-year-old was subsequently arrested and taken into custody by members of the RCMP's Southeast District Emergency Response Team.
