A pair of talented young artists are being celebrated with an opening reception at the Vernon Community Arts Centre (VCAC) tonight.
Youth artists in residence Phoenix Keene and Lucy Witteman will have their work on display and give brief talks at the event Friday at 6 p.m.
The free event gives the community an opportunity to meet the artists in person. The exhibit, Nostalgic Expressions, continues on display until Sept. 9 daily at the centre.
"Phoenix brings characters and human experiences to life through stylized, expressive works in both digital and traditional mediums, using layered techniques and a range of colours," Emma Kopp, VCAC event coordinator explains.
"Through her series of paintings, Lucy draws on Renaissance art to create realistic portraits in acrylics and oils that convey emotion and story. Together, their exhibition celebrates youthful creativity, self-expression, and the power of art to tell stories.
"Join us in celebrating these talented young artists and the incredible work they鈥檝e created!"
