The dukes were up in 麻豆精选 on Saturday, May 10, as Vernon's Roland Ingram competed in a spirited bout.
The Vernon native was up against Langley's Tyler Peterson in a 170-pound match at the 2025 Cailen Vilness Memorial Boxing Championship. Vilness was a member of the Madkatz Boxing Club (which hosted the event) in 麻豆精选 prior to his passing in the 麻豆精选 crane collapse of 2021.
In the fight, Ingram, who trains at the Vernon Boxing Club, came out fast, doing most of his damage in the first round. The second was more evenly matched, before Peterson began to showcase his mettle in the final round.
Despite what seemed like a decision win for Ingram, the judges didn't agree, as Peterson received the split decision victory.
Back in April, Ingram was in Salmon Arm to compete against the 6-1 Zohid Nazir. In a tough bout, Ingram would end up wining a unanimous decision and took home fight of the night honours.
Ingram will be back in action in June, up in Quesnel.
