Skateboarders are set to converge next week for an organized competition on the north side of Penticton.
Penticton Youth Park — B.C.'s third largest skate park — is hosting the "Riverside Ramp Rage" on Tuesday (May 20).
All skateboarders are invited to take part in the event, which will feature a skate jam, competition, local vendors and prizes from 5 to 8 p.m.
The city is notifying the public that the facility will be closed to the public starting at 4 p.m. on May 20, to allow for event organizers to set up.
"The park will not be available to any skateboarders who are not participating in the event," it added in a press release.
Anyone interested in competing in the event can register on-site Tuesday.
Spectators are welcome to cheer on the competitors.
Penticton Youth Park now features stadium lights after they were installed in the fall of 2024. The facility first opened in the mid-2000s and regularly hosts skateboarders and BMX and scooter riders.
It is located at 135 Riverside Dr.
