The Okanagan Sun kept their winning ways going in a big game over the weekend.
On Saturday, Sept. 30, the Sun went up to Prince George to play the Kodiaks and beat them 74-14.
Sun quarterbacks Adam Rocha and Hunter Norman split the game and combined for five touchdowns and 378 yards of offense. Rocha went 14/20 for 174 yards, two touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns while Norman threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns.
Receivers Colby Miletto caught two touchdowns while Luke Winsor and Ethan Kiefer each scored one. Kyle Dennis and Aiden Wieberg each scored a touchdown on the ground. Elelyon Noa rushed for a career-high 111 yards and scored two touchdowns - one receiving and one rushing.
The team’s defense also came to play, forcing nine turnovers, highlighted by Peyton Briere picking up a fumble and returning it 70 yards for a touchdown.
With the win, the Sun improved to 6-1 on the season. They continue to sit in second place in the BCFC standing behind the 8-0 Westshore Rebels.
This Saturday, Oct. 7, the Sun and Kodiaks complete the home-and-home series as they meet again at the Apple Bowl in Âé¶¹¾«Ñ¡. Kick-off is at 4 p.m.
