The McDougall Creek wildfire is officially under control.
After being held for two weeks, the fire is now under control, according to BC Wildfire Service. This means that due to suppression efforts, the blaze will not spread any further.
Additionally, all remaining evacuation orders and alerts were rescinded on Thursday, Sept. 28. Central Okanagan Emergency Operations has also ended the local state of emergency.
The McDougall Creek wildfire ignited on Tuesday, Aug. 15, and grew to 13,970.4 hectares.
