An unexpected mechanical problem has forced the Lavington Outdoor Pool to close early for the 2025 season.
The pool will shut at the end of the day Friday, Aug. 22.
"A big thank you to the incredible City of Vernon staff 鈥� our dedicated lifeguards and swim instructors 鈥� for all their hard work this season," the District of Coldstream said in announcing the closure.
"We appreciate your understanding and look forward to seeing you next summer."
The pool is closed today, Thursday, Aug. 21, from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. for swim lessons, and again from 5 to 6 p.m. Public swimming will run from 12 to 5 p.m., and again from 6 to 7 p.m.
For the final day Friday, the pool will be open for public swimming from 12 to 7 p.m.
