Highway 97 is closed and traffic is being rerouted in Westwold Saturday afternoon.
A Black Press Media reporter confirmed southbound traffic on the highway was being rerouted to Douglas Lake Road around 4:15 p.m. Aug. 23.
Northbound traffic is being rerouted onto Back Road, before Westwold. A fire engine can be seen at this location.
A pair of RCMP vehicles and traffic control personnel could be seen at the Centex gas station in Westwold, steering traffic onto Douglas Lake Road.
It's unclear what has caused the highway closure. DriveBC is not reporting an incident in the area as of 4:30 p.m.
