The Okanagan Connector is being added to the list of B.C. highways that have a freezing rain alert.
Environment Canada issued the alert at 2:45 p.m. Friday.
The freezing rain is expected to ease or transition to showers or flurries by Saturday morning.

As temperatures rise, snow is turning into freezing rain, causing warnings for two Okanagan highways.
Both the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt and Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton have freezing rain warnings for Friday, Jan. 19 that’s expected to stay in place throughout the day.
“A Pacific frontal system combined with lingering cold air is expected to produce an extended period of freezing rain,” said Environment Canada in the warning. “Snow that has developed overnight will transition to freezing rain this morning through the afternoon.”
The freezing rain could cause slippery conditions on the highways, meaning travellers should drive with caution.
Late Friday night and into Saturday morning, the freezing rain is expected to ease into flurries or showers.
