A handgun along with a large quantity of illicit drugs were seized by RCMP, after officers stopped a vehicle leaving what police called a “problematic residence” in Rutland, at about 11:30 p.m., Dec. 1.
Officers arrested a man in the passenger seat of the vehicle who was known to them and also recognized for failing to abide by his curfew. A woman who was driving the vehicle at the time was also arrested, for possession of a controlled substance.
Following the man’s arrest, police seized large quantities of illicit drugs including methamphetamine, fentanyl and Dilaudid pills from inside the vehicle.
The woman was released at the scene. The vehicle was impounded and the man remains in custody until his court date on Dec. 20.
