A free conference in Vernon will give participants the tools to maintain their mental health in challenging times.
The Family Resource Centre is holding the conference, called Supporting Yourself in Uncertain Times, at the Schubert Centre on Saturday, May 24 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The event will feature a keynote address from Susan Armstrong titled Understanding our Automatic Responses to Stress and How to Unwind them. There will also be a talk by Jim Swingle, the executive director fo the Family Resource Centre. Swingle's talk is titled: Your Environment Matters: Supporting Your Mental Health.
Two workshops will be offered at the event. Writer and seniors' activist Carole Fawcett will present The Science of Laughter, and Gabe Newman will present Being a Well-Resourced Caregiver: Managing Your Needs While Caring for Others.
