DriveBC is asking motorists to watch for fire crews and possible delays due to a 0.2-hectare blaze off Highway 97 south of Penticton on Friday, Aug. 22.

BC Wildfire Service (BCWS) is on scene fighting a new blaze that sparked Friday afternoon off Highway 97, in between Okanagan Falls and Penticton.

The Marron River wildfire, located just south of the Highway 3 junction in Kaleden, is 0.2 hectares and "under control," according to BCWS.

Two helicopters and 15 firefighters are attacking the blaze, the provincial service added.

DriveBC is asking motorists in the area to watch for fire crews and possible delays near Turtle Lake Road.

The wildfire was human-caused, and there are no current area restrictions in place, according to BCWS.
