Students and staff were evacuated from W.L. Seaton Secondary today (Thursday, May 15).
Superintedent Karla Mitchell said the precautionary measure was taken, "after we received notification of a potential safety concern."
RCMP and district staff have been supporting and ensuring that all safety measures have been taken.
"Ensuring the safety of our students is our top priority. Both the RCMP and the school district have been collaborating closely to manage the situation and maintain a safe environment for everyone during the evacuation," said Mitchell. "RCMP are continuing to investigate."
The school was scheduled to celebrate its 75th anniversary tonight, but the event has been postponed.
This is the second North Okanagan high school evacuation in two days.
Enderby's A.L. Fortune Secondary staff and students were dismissed early following a bomb threat, which RCMP later said nothing was found to substantiate it.
