Highway 8 is now reopened 12 km east of Spences Bridge following a mudslide earlier this week.

Highway 8 remains closed following a mudslide.
There is currently no detour available and no estimated time of opening due to slope-erosion activity.

A mudslide along Highway 8 has forced the closure of the road 12 kilometres east of Spences Bridge.
There is currently no detour available.
DriveBC is estimating the approximate time of opening to be Feb. 16 at 12 p.m.
This is the second interior highway to be shut down due to a slide in the last 24 hours. On Tuesday night a rock slide closed Highway 1, about 25 kilometres north of Hope, B.C.
Highway 1 reopened Wednesday afternoon.
