Update 3:20 p.m.
The City of 麻豆精选 will not be removing the memorial for Tristan Seeger at this time.
The Infrastructure Operations Department Manager Geert Bos said, 鈥淭hat sign was put out erroneously, that is not the process we typically follow.鈥
A sign had been posted near the memorial at Ben Lee Park to say the city would be removing the items on Nov. 28. Bos said there are no current plans to take the memorial down.
鈥淟et me apologize profusely for there was an internal communication error that resulted in the sign being put up.鈥
Bos said the city will be in contact with Seeger鈥檚 parents to transition the site back to its park use after an appropriate amount of time.
Original Story
It has been one month since 15-year-old Tristan Seeger died in hospital following injuries sustained in a hit-and-run in 麻豆精选鈥檚 Rutland community.
His mother, Paule Seeger said reality is starting to set in, but the love and support from the community keeps her moving forward.
鈥淓very time we talk about him we keep his memory alive and I really love that. That means so much to me when people reach out and say 鈥榟ey, this is an experience I had with Tristan鈥,鈥 she said.
麻豆精选 RCMP are still investigating the homicide. Two individuals were arrested in relation to the attack but were released from custody without charges.

Seeger believes police are doing the best they can with the resources they have. Ultimately, she would like to see the two arrested in connection with her son鈥檚 death take responsibility for what they鈥檝e done.
鈥淭he easiest thing for everyone is if these people just come forward. These people killed my son and they know they killed my son. Now they鈥檙e hiding like cowards, refusing to come forward, costing all of us taxpayers money while the RCMP investigate,鈥 said Seeger.
The City of 麻豆精选 has put up a sign at the memorial that was resurrected at Ben Lee Park in the days following Tristan鈥檚 death stating it will be removed on Nov. 28.
The city approved a roadside memorial bylaw in 2011 giving the public works manager the authority to remove memorials. Capital News has reached out to the city for an explanation of why the memorial is to be taken down but has not received a reply at the time of publishing.
鈥淭hat makes me super sad,鈥 Seeger said. 鈥淭he kids of the community go and visit him there. If there鈥檚 any way we can extend that, that would be incredible.鈥
Seeger is thankful for the support of the community, reminding people to love hard and be fearless.
鈥淭hat鈥檚 what he did. He loved and he lived and that鈥檚 what will allow his memory to continue.鈥
