This year's Royal Canadian Legion poppy campaign will kick off Friday morning in 麻豆精选.
At a breakfast in the RCL Branch 26 hall on Bertram Street, legion officials will pin the first poppy of the campaign in 麻豆精选 on Mayor Colin Basran.
On Tuesday night, at the West 麻豆精选 city council meeting, George Steeves of the legion pinned the first poppy of the West 麻豆精选 campaign on Mayor Doug Findlater.
Each year the Royal Canadian Legion conducts its poppy campaign in the weeks leading up to Remembrance Day on Nov. 11 to remember and honour those who serve, have served and those who gave their lives in battle
Funds raised through the sale of poppies goes to support veterans and their families.
The campaign annually runs from the last Friday in October to Remembrance Day.
