The Summerland Fall Fair will return this year at the grounds of the Summerland Museum and the Ryga Arts and Cultural Centre on Wharton Street.
The event is planned for Sept. 13 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. as a celebration of agriculture, with a focus on building community and showcasing Summerland.
The fair has been a Summerland tradition since 1909 and promotes traditional artisanal produce and crafts along with new, value-adding agricultural industries.
The activities and events scheduled for this year include children鈥檚 activities and races, Farmer to Chef demonstrations under the big tent, local musicians and entertainers and service clubs and vendors.
Home-made and home-grown items will be on display at the Ryga Arts and Cultural Centre. Categories for the exhibition can be found at summerlandfallfair.ca
The Farm Speaker Series, held in the library meeting room, celebrates two food hubs and the Cross-Community Support Project.
The silent auction will have more than 65 auction items, including gift cards, baskets, goods and services, generously donated by local businesses, industries and individuals.
Those interested in volunteering to help with the event are asked to contact summerlandfallfairvolunteer@gmail.ca.
