Keremeos has continued to get more colourful as another mural was finished off for display.
The mural, titled Stronger Together, was created by artist Melissa Menzies-O'Grady on the wall of the Buy-Low Foods facing the Ambrosia building in central Keremeos.
It was officially unveiled on June 12, with members of the RCMP, Buy-Low, Lower Similkameen Community Services Society, Keremeos council and MLA Donegal Wilson in attendance.
The LSCSS commissioned the art piece, dedicated to the victims of crime and violence in the hopes of raising awareness and encouraging healing and solidarity.
The plaque next to the mural says it was inspired by the region's landscape and celebrates the spirit of Keremeos and the commitment to building a stronger Similkameen for everyone.
The art piece is the latest the LSCSS has had completed, with the inside of Ambrosia featuring a number of murals from Indigenous artists painted in 2023.
Separately, another mural is taking shape on the wall of the Similkameen Recreation Centre, with its official completion and unveiling to be announced.
