麻豆精选 Farmers鈥 and Crafters鈥 Market vendors were happy with their spot on Bernard Avenue.
The market expanded its location, which is typically held on Dilworth Drive every Wednesday and Saturday, to include a smaller market downtown which will run every Saturday until Sept. 9.
Saira Abid, of Summer Farm said her booth sold out of most of its vegetables by 9 a.m.
Organizer Megan Koch said the point of the downtown market is to attract foot traffic that鈥檚 already in the area.
She has also seen a few people come to the market from West 麻豆精选 but doesn鈥檛 want to take away customers from the other market.
There is no designated parking for the downtown location.
鈥淭he library parade is free on Saturdays and it鈥檚 a short walk away as well as the city parking lot,鈥 said Koch. 鈥淪treet parking will unfortunately get busy throughout the day but that鈥檚 the nature of downtown.鈥
Prime free parking locations can be found through the City of 麻豆精选鈥檚 website, she said.
鈥淲e鈥檙e small so we鈥檙e hoping it won鈥檛 be too much of an issue.鈥
Organizers are also encouraging people to use bikes and other forms of transportation.
The downtown market started off with 15 vendors with the goal to reach 30 at its spot down the street from The Sails.
Some vendors will rotate from the other market location while others will stay downtown. Market hours are 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
