More grant funding has been made available to enhance the careers of Lake Country firefighters.

The Lake Country Fire Department Legacy Leadership Fund Committee is offering $20,000 to be split between three applicants wanting the build on their leadership skills and fire officer, fire prevention, and advanced management certificates.

The fire department stated it has received seven applications.

鈥淭he quality of applications and the passion of each of the paid-on-call members in advancing their leadership education, knowledge and skills really speaks to the depth of integrity within the Lake Country Fire Department,鈥 said Deputy Chief Brent Penner. 鈥淚t鈥檚 all about investing in the people, organization and the community, to continue the legacy.鈥

The program previously offered $10,000 to be divided between two applicants.
