The Abbotsford Police Department ended their investigation into an individual within 麻豆精选's RCMP detachment and have found no cause to file charges.

"Our investigation did not find evidence that a criminal offence was committed," reads a press release from Const. Ian MacDonald of the Abbotsford Police Department, issued Wednesday.

"We appreciate the assistance of witnesses, the public and the media throughout the course of this investigation."

The investigation started in early September, and by month's end 麻豆精选's Top Cop Supt. Nick Romanchuk had unexpectedly retired from the police force.

The reason behind Romanchuk's sudden retirement wasn't offered by the RCMP.

"Supt. Nick Romanchuk had taken time off since early September and he decided to retire from the RCMP on Monday Sept. 26, 2016," said Staff Sgt. Rob Vermeulen, the  Senior Media Relations Officer with BC RCMP, at the time.

Romanchuk took over the superintendent position in 2013, when Bill McKinnon stepped down.

Romanchuk has been in policing for 25 years.
