Come one, come all as registration is now open for the 2025 Canada Day parade, where Revelstoke residents can have the opportunity to ride along in a decorated fashion.

Whether you're walking, biking, or an entire band or choir, everyone is encouraged to sign up for free, to be a part of the parade and tour Revelstoke's main roads, with or without a float, for the nation's 158th birthday.

This year, the parade and event theme is "unity," which encourages all businesses, organizations, youth groups, churches and residents to participate.

Those participating in the parade are asked to gather at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, at the Revelstoke Courthouse. There will be awards for the funniest, most creative and overall best float in the parade.

Canada Day festivities start at noon with a children's bike decorating session. Parents and their young ones can assemble at Grizzly Plaza, with Skookum Revelstoke providing decorations and prizes for the most dazzling rides.

The parade hits the road at 1 p.m., proceeding from Kootenay Street and Second Street West, southeast along First Street West, and down Mackenzie Avenue. The procession finishes at 9th Street East and Vernon Avenue, where the celebration continues at Queen Elizabeth Park as of 2 p.m.

The event's opening ceremony is at 2 p.m. with flag raising, and cupcakes are also up for grabs.

Early park-goers can catch the Revelstoke Community Band's first set at 1:30 to 2 p.m., while those tuning in after the parade can look forward to a second performance at 2:40 p.m. to 3 p.m.

There will be an array of vendors on site, children can head to the face painting stations, kids' zone and bouncy castles from 2 to 6 p.m. The Rotary Club of Revelstoke will host a beer garden from noon to 7 p.m.

The evening will end with a performance from Shuffle Demons, a Toronto jazz fusion band that is coming off a European fall tour and about to perform across Canada this summer.
