Good evening 麻豆精选 and as you settle in for another night, here's five things to think about on what was a busy day.
1. Thoughts from around the province and all of Canada are with the Prentice family and the other victims of a small plane crash overnight on Thursday near Winfield as former Alberta Premier Jim Prentice as well as his daughter's father-in-law were identified as two of the four fatalities in an airplane crash near Lake Country on Thursday evening.
Prentice spent his life in politics and had a long career, both as a politician and someone who worked the back rooms. Prentice was a cabinet member and key lieutenant under former Conservative prime minister Stephen Harper, serving in the Indian and northern affairs, industry, and environment portfolios.
Late Friday afternoon, RCMP updated the situation.
2. While the tragic airplane crash dominated the news, there were other local happenings including the Central Okanagan Regional District confirming that Director Hanson has been granted a 鈥渓eave of the board鈥� pursuant to Section 204 of the Local Government Act for a 60-day period.
3. Sports-wise the 麻豆精选 Rockets were back in the Okanagan to begin a four-game homestand, playing at Prospera Place. The Rockets were taking on Saskatoon Friday night and Swift Current on Saturday night at Prospera Place.

4. Speaking of sports, Canada's favourite baseball team, the Toronto Blue Jays, kicked off the American League Championship Series against Cleveland on Friday night. Unfortunately for the Jays and their fans, Cleveland's baseball team won 2-0 to take a 1-0 series lead in the ALCS
