The Chase RCMP is investigating an alleged sexual assault involving a possible date rape drug at a recent music festival.
At approximately 5 a.m. on Aug. 9, officers responded after security at a local festival reported that a female alleged she had been sexually assaulted and drugged, potentially with GHB.
"Security personnel conducted a search of the suspect's RV, where they located substances believed to include GHB, ketamine and magic mushrooms," Const. Sarah Van Wilgenburg said in a media release. "Officers took custody of the seized substances and an air-powered replica handgun also found in the suspect's trailer."
Police took statements from potential witnesses, while the woman was taken to hospital by festival staff for medical treatment.
This remains an active investigation.
