These historic photos are of the 麻豆精选 Opera House located on Water Street. The 1906 photo (shared by Steven James) is a view from the Lakeview Hotel to the west and shows the backside of the building with large posters advertising the show for August 31, 1906.
The second photo is men posing with Fire Truck No. 1 at the ruins of the 麻豆精选 Opera House that sat almost next door to the Fire Hall on Water Street. The opera house burnt down in 1916.
