The Coquihalla Highway (pictured) is one of four major Okanagan highways under a special weather statement on May 7 as wet snow is expected overnight.

Old Man Winter isn't quite ready to go to bed for the summer just yet.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for multiple Okanagan highways as a couple of centimetres of wet snow is expected on Wednesday night (May 7) and into Thursday morning.

Drivers are to expect slushy conditions on the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt, Highway 3 from Hope to Princeton via Allison Pass, the Okanagan Connector from Merritt to Peachland, and the Trans-Canada Highway from Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass.

"Roads may become slippery due to wet snow or slush," stated Environment Canada. "Be prepared to adjust your driving to changing road conditions."

Despite the winter conditions, B.C.'s Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure winter tire requirements are no longer in effect as April 30 has passed.
