The City of West 麻豆精选 is fixing a paperwork mix-up involving a group of popular waterfront parks.

Back in March, city council approved a long-term agreement with the province to manage several stretches of Crown-owned foreshore along Okanagan Lake. The plan was to lock in a 30-year licence that would let the city continue maintaining beaches, parks and boat ramps for public use.

The problem was that one of the legal land descriptions provided by the province was incorrect. Specifically, the reference to Pritchard Park didn鈥檛 belong in that agreement. That area is actually covered under a separate licence.

Council is being asked to cancel its earlier decision and approve a revised version with the correct locations listed.

If approved, the city will move forward with Licences of Occupation for Pebble Beach Park, Marina Park, Casa Rio Park and the Casa Loma Beach area鈥攚hich includes the boat launch, dock and waterfront access. Gellatly Bay is also part of the plan and would be managed under a separate licence for park and recreation purposes.

While there鈥檚 no added cost to the city for taking over these licences, it does mean a long-term commitment to keep maintaining and operating these waterfront spaces.
