West 麻豆精选 Fire Rescue called to home on Viewpoint Drive

The homeowner reported smoke in the house

West 麻豆精选 Fire crews were called to a home on Viewpoint Drive Monday (Feb. 12) morning.

Calls of smoke in the house were reported around 9:30 a.m.

Batteries being charged for a drone turned out to be the cause.

鈥淭here appeared to be a malfunction and it caused some smoke in the house, said Acting Fire Captain Sean Minchin. 鈥淣ot a lot of fire but a lot of smoke,鈥�

Minchin added they see a lot of issues with batteries overcharging.

鈥淕enerally that tends to be in a garage. It鈥檚 a perfect example of perhaps having an area separate from your home.鈥�

Smoke damage to the home was minimal, according to Minchin.
