Stage 2 water restrictions for Regional District of Central Okanagan water systems went into effect on Monday, June 16, 2025.

Outdoor watering restrictions are now in effect across all Regional District of Central Okanagan (RDCO) water systems, as the region continues to face increasingly dry conditions heading into the summer.

As of Monday, June 16, Stage 2 restrictions apply to residents connected to the Star Place, Falcon Ridge, Killiney Beach, Sunset Ranch, Upper Fintry/Shalal Road/Valley of the Sun, and Westshore Estates water systems. These rules are expected to stay in place until September 15, unless drought conditions worsen.

Under Stage 2, you can only water twice a week鈥攂ased on your home鈥檚 address. If your address ends in an even number, your watering days are Tuesdays and Saturdays. If your address is odd-numbered, you can water on Wednesdays and Sundays.

For those with automated sprinkler systems, watering is only allowed between midnight and 6 a.m. on your assigned days. If you're watering manually, you鈥檙e limited to 6 to 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. to midnight.

The RDCO is encouraging residents to skip watering if their lawns and gardens don鈥檛 actually need it.

The move comes after the B.C. government bumped the Okanagan drought level to Level 2 (Very Dry) on June 12. While some spots have seen brief showers, officials expect the dry conditions to persist through.
