Laticia Watson, the chef behind the carefully curated menu and tasty food at Sprout Bread died after her vehicle plunged into Okanagan Lake on June 9.

That crash happened around 9:15 that night in the Trader鈥檚 Cove area along Westside Road.

麻豆精选 RCMP and Central Okanagan Search and Rescue searched the lake and located the vehicle and Watson鈥檚 body, however, due to challenging conditions were not immediately able to recover her or the vehicle.

An RCMP specialized dive team finally retrieved Watson鈥檚 body and the car on June 27.

She began working at Sprout Bread in 2018 and helped grow it into a popular location.

鈥淟aticia has been with us through it all and there was a good reason she was known as the Sprout Mama,鈥 owner Peter van Boekhout said in June. 鈥淪he was that soothing voice, a non-judgmental ear, and calming shoulder when times got rough.鈥
