The grand opening of the Peachland to West 麻豆精选 multi-use trail takes place on Friday, June 20.
Members of Peachland council and special guests will be on hand for the ribbon cutting at the Talking Circle on the trail.
Parking for the event is limited, and the public is encouraged to park along Beach Avenue and bicycle or walk via Buchanan Road and Robinson Place. For those needing easier access, park near the entrance to Goats Peak Park on Seclusion Bay Road or, at the top of Drought Road (travelling from Peachland only).
This new connection is part of a larger vision to create a 250-kilometre trail system stretching from Sicamous to Osoyoos. Once complete, the network will link several existing trails, including the Shuswap North Okanagan Rail Trail, the Okanagan Rail Trail, and the Trail of the Okanagans.
The trail was funded by $920,200 from the BC Active Transportation Infrastructure Grants Program, and $356,400 from the Federal Communities鈥 Active Transportation Fund.
