A highstream flow advisory has been issued for the Okanagan region.

The Government of B.C. River Forecast Centre issued the alert at 3 p.m. on June 20, amidst heavy rainfall in the region.

A high streamflow advisory means that river levels are rising or are expected to rise rapidly. No major flooding is anticipated. Minor flooding in low-lying areas is possible.

The government of B.C. issued the alert as fast-flowing bodies of water increase risk to life safety. People are urged to use caution around flowing water.

An unsettled low-pressure system is approaching the southern interior from the east. The low-pressure storm system is expected to bring precipitation until Sunday, June 22.
