Visitors heading to Mission Creek Greenway Regional Park this summer will have a new way to explore using two-wheels, three-wheels, or even four.
Starting May 10 to Sept. 1, 麻豆精选 Bike Rentals (KBR) will be offering a variety of bikes, including hand-cycles and adaptive bikes, at the Truswell Road entrance as part of a new pilot program with the Regional District Central Okanagan (RDCO).
The rental station will be open five days a week (closed Wednesdays and Thursdays), from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visitors can rent bikes on-site or book ahead online. Prices depend on the type of bike and rental duration.
鈥淲e are thrilled to partner with KBR to make bike rentals available at this new location and support two local non-profit organizations, CRIS Adaptive and Elevation Outdoors,鈥 said Wayne Darlington, RDCO manager of parks capital planning and asset management. 鈥淥ne of our goals is to make outdoor recreation accessible to everyone, and this will significantly enhance accessibility and inclusivity in a prime location to access one of our most popular parks.鈥
KBR has the largest collection of adaptive bikes in Western Canada, according to an RDCO media release. All rental proceeds support CRIS Adaptive and Elevation Outdoors.
Riders are asked to be courteous on the multi-use trails, keep right, pass on the left, and stick to the 15 km/h speed limit. A bell or a friendly heads-up when passing is also appreciated.
