As part of the 麻豆精选 Transportation Master Plan, the city is looking at the idea of expanding Clement Avenue and is asking for the public's opinion.
The plan being developed would extend Clement Avenue eastbound along the Okanagan Rail Trail, connecting to Dilworth Road and Highway 33, giving drivers another option on their daily commute.
鈥淭he city鈥檚 road network in Midtown is constrained by Dilworth Mountain and Mission Creek,鈥� said city transportation manager Gordon Foy. 鈥淭raffic between the east and west sides of the city, as well as regional highway traffic, is limited to three routes, Enterprise Way, Harvey Ave / Highway 97, and Springfield Rd. The Clement Avenue Extension will create a new way to pass through Midtown, increasing the road network鈥檚 capacity and redundancy during busy peak periods.鈥�
The preliminary design is partly funded by the Ministry of Transportation and Transit.
