The District of Lake Country is pleading with the public to stop stealing its signs and is asking anyone with information to reach out.
鈥淲e鈥檇 really like to get them back and reinstall them,鈥� said said Dev Fraser, Walk Around Lake Country chairperson.
The signs were installed in a collaborative effort between Walk Around Lake Country and the District of Lake Country to help hikers, cyclists and visitors feel comfortable exploring the area.
In a post on Facebook, the District said that 45 signs from Jack Seaton Park have gone missing, including trail markings.
Anyone with knowledge of the whereabouts of the signs, or to return the signs is asked to call the District at 250-766-5650. If they prefer to call the RCMP non-emergency line at 250-766-2288 they can quote file #2023-61941.
