One of two Albertans arrested after allegedly breaking into rural homes in Penticton last March has pleaded guilty.
Kyle Jordan, born in 1992, pleaded guilty on Jan. 9 to one charge of break-and-enter with intention to commit an offence, one charge of vehicle theft and one charge of dangerous operation of a conveyance.
Jordan had originally been co-accused with Amanda Ferguson, born in 1988, with additional charges including pointing a firearm and assault with a weapon. Those charges are in the middle of a preliminary inquiry.
All of the charges stem from March 24, 2023, which started in the Carmi area of Penticton and ended in West 麻豆精选. Jordan currently is in custody and appeared in court via video.
On March 24, Jordan pleaded guilty to breaking into two homes on Carmi Avenue in Penticton as well as stealing one vehicle, before driving dangerously in and around the city.
At the time of the crimes, residents in the Carmi area saw police officers running through the neighbourhood with weapons drawn.
Jordan and Ferguson were followed out of Penticton and eventually arrested in West 麻豆精选.
The judge ordered a presentence and a Gladue report to be prepared, and Jordan will return to court at a later date to see if the reports are completed.
