Family fun awaits as Vernon Secondary students bring laughter, magic and mischief to the stage with A Midsummer Night's Dream: The Pantomime.
VSS Theatre on the Hill bring the Shakespeare classic to life nightly at 7 p.m. June 3-7.
Showgoers will be whisked away into a world of fairy magic, mistaken identities, and whimsical adventure as the beloved classic A Midsummer Night's Dream is reimagined in a spectacular pantomime.
The production promises to deliver all the fun, laughter, and sparkling antics that have made pantomimes a favourite for audiences of all ages.
Featuring a talented cast, dazzling costumes and stunning set designs, the pantomime will bring Shakespeare’s famous story to life with a playful twist —complete with slapstick humour, audience participation, and plenty of magical surprises.
Directed by Laurie Anne Lorge, the pantomime reimagines the comedic and chaotic world of the forest where mischievous fairies, lovestruck couples, and a bumbling troupe of actors collide.
The familiar characters of Puck, Oberon, Titania, and Bottom take on hilarious new roles, with the ever-popular Dame Hippolyta providing a riot of laughs in a role that will have the audience howling.
Expect the unexpected — a hilarious dance-off between the rivals or audience involvement, there’s no shortage of fun.
Young children will marvel at the playful fairies, while adults will enjoy the cleverly crafted jokes and double entendres.
"We wanted to create a production that feels like an escape into a dream, filled with whimsy and laughter for everyone," said Lorge. "This pantomime version of A Midsummer Night’s Dream is packed with everything audiences love — humour, magic, and a little bit of chaos. It’s the perfect way to enjoy a night out!"
