It's time to pull the mask back during Mental Health Week.
From May 5-11, the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) 麻豆精选 is set to host multiple activities to encourage open and honest conservations around the stigma of mental health. This year's theme is Unmasking Mental Health.
Tuesday, May 8
CMHA will have a photo frame at City Park for residents to stop by, snap a photo, and share their support for mental health initiatives. Those who post their photos can use the hashtag #UnmaskingMentalHealth. Some masks will be on hand for the photos.
Wednesday, May 9
Foundry 麻豆精选 is hosting a community barbecue free to the public from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. On top of the food, there will be conversations about youth mental health and Foundry's available supports and programs.
Meanwhile, at Pulp Fiction Coffee House, QR codes will be on coffee cups linking people to both CMHA's and Foundry's mental health resources. Pulp Fiction Coffee House is located at 1598 Pandosy Street.
Thursday, May 10
West 麻豆精选's Mount Boucherie Secondary School is hosting its annual Walk for Mental Health for students, teachers, staff, and members of the community to raise awareness for youth mental health.
鈥淯nmasking Mental Health is about creating brave spaces to show up authentically, to share stories, and to listen with compassion,鈥� said CMHA 麻豆精选 CEO Mike Gawliuk. 鈥淢ental Health Week is an opportunity for our community to come together and be part of the movement that supports the wellbeing of others.鈥�
