The Eagle Valley and Crowfoot Snowmobile Clubs in the Shuswap both received funding from the Off-Road Vehicle Trail Fund to support trail maintenance, such as this work bee up at Queest Mountain.

Provincial funding to two off-road vehicle clubs will help outdoor adventurers hit the trail in the Shuswap.

With $400,000 available, the province's Off-Road Vehicle (ORV) Trail Fund will support 20 regional projects to build and improve trails, including two locally.

The Eagle Valley Snowmobile Club (Sled Sicamous) will get $25,000 for trail safety and maintenance enhancements, while the Crowfoot Mountain Snowmobile Club in Celista will receive $17,716.25 for trailhead and shelter infrastructure maintenance.

"Outdoor recreation connects people to nature," Minister of Environment and Parks Tamara Davidson said in a media release. "It's all about staying active, building community and respecting our natural spaces. The ORV Trail Fund helps keep our trail networks safe and provides space for people to come together to enjoy the outdoors."

The projects being funded are primarily led by volunteer groups and organizations that contribute countless hours to maintain and improve local trails throughout B.C.

Both of the above clubs have previously received funding through the program, with Eagle Valley getting $9,600 in 2018, and Crowfoot $14,000 in 2023.
