Our commencement ceremony is the culmination of 13 years of hard work by families, by staff, and most of all, by our graduates.
Today we celebrate the road that got us all here. We are so grateful that this group of young adults has been able to contribute to an amazing year at KSS, and one full of unique KSS experiences.
In the grad class this year, we have artists and musicians and fierce competitors of all kinds. True champions, some through their passions and pursuits, and some through the challenges that life laid before them. And, we have contributors that have made a difference in their community and many that will be difference makers in communities to come.
Grads, you have not walked this journey alone. Please take a moment to look around, and try to make eye contact with someone who helped you on this journey. Your parents, your teachers, your important friends. While exciting for you, this moment is bittersweet for us, as we have all tried our best to guide you and watch you grow, and now can only sit back and watch you soar.
Choose your steps wisely, take them with purpose and conviction, and every once in a while, look back and wave, and know that we will always be here to support you. Most importantly, savour the experiences in front of you. Always remember to eat life with big bites.
Grads, you have made a positive difference to KSS, and I would like to take this time to challenge you to continue to make positive impacts in your lives moving forward. Use your skills, passions, experiences and talents to make your communities and your world better places.
Continue to learn and to keep your mind open to learning and new ideas. You give us hope that the world will be a better place. You are making the world a better place.
Today, marks a step. So, take that step and then pause. Smell the air, look around you, take a deep breath and remember that every step is a step forward.
