Every year on the first Sunday in May, the Canadian Navy family gathers to commemorate the Battle of the Atlantic, taking place from September 1939 until victory in Europe in May 1945, which came at a high cost of 4,600 Canadian lives, including members of the Navy, the Royal Canadian Air Force, the Merchant Navy, and the Wrens (the Women's Royal Canadian Naval Service).
The Royal Canadian Navy will be live streaming the 80th Anniversary Commemoration from London Ontario, on Facebook.
